Transition Program

The Transition Program serves high school students with an IEP. Students range in ages 16-21. Students can be referred for services by their special education case managers, parents, and IEP team members.

The Transition Program is a combination of classroom instruction and hands on learning. The program provides students opportunities to learn and apply skills taught in:

  • Life Skills

  • Social Skills

  • Self Advocacy

  • Work Related Skills

The goal of the Transition Program is assist students in being more independent individuals and to prepare them for life after high school.

Work Placement

Work Placement places high school students with or without an IEP in community businesses and provides them on the job training experiences in career fields of their choice. It provides student the opportunity to earn school credit along with learning job skills in a field that interests them.

Learning Resource

Academic support is available to all students that take classes at Sheyenne Valley Area Career and Technology Center. Students are able to receive support with completion of assignments, taking tests, and the learning of any new strategies that can help the student be more successful with their classes.
